Hi Alan
So good the see you again. And so nice to meet the rest of your family.

I am writing to you as my scanner and printer are not working, so I can't send your mom and dad a word processing letter. Will you please print this and give it to your dad?

We received your very nice letter earlier this week. Wait a minute if today is Sunday, it was last week. What ever, it was a nice letter.

We really enjoyed your company at the reunion. So good to see y'all again. We are looking forward to the next visit, hopefully next year.

We had a bitch of a time getting out of Phoenix . Who ever planned the detour should be promoted as he is too incompetent to be in the position he is in. We got about 50 to 60 miles North of Phoenix on I-17 when traffic gradually started to slow down then got slower and slower until we came to a complete stop. We were on a curved section of road, so we could see about 105 to 2.0 miles ahead. Both north bound lanes were stopped and we could see people out of their vehicles sitting on the guard rails. We sat there for about 25 to 30 minutes. Behind us as far as you could see was many vehicles. Finally we started to move, very slowly at first than gradually finally up to speed. As normal everyone was anguish to make up for lost time, it was a rat race. We never did see what was the cause of the shutdown. We ran it the rat race until we got to the turnoff for Sedona. That was a relief to get off the Interstate. We had lunch in Sedona, then drove on a two lane road to Flagstaff. It was the most beautiful part of our trip. We must have stopped at least six times to view the scenery and take pictures. It was just outstanding. We spent the night in Flagstaff.

We went to Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon Park, Mesa Verda,Taos,Santa Fe. Then headed home with a stop to visit friends in Morrilton,AK. I had worked with this fellow while in the Marshall Islands , at White Sands Missile Range and in New Jersey. Our wives had become friends. They had visited us in North Carolina a couple of times and we had promised to visit them when we were in their area.
We stopped in Clarksville,TN to visit Tuby's brother and sister-in -law. And visit Tuby's Mom. Who is in a nursing home close-by, we were there a couple of days. We finally get home October 25th.

It sure was nice to get to sleep in our own bed for a change.

Man I sure got windy, I close for now.

Again, we really enjoyed the visit we had with y'all.
